Acrylic benchtops, while durable, are made from plastic and therefore have limited heat resistance. It’s essential to avoid placing hot cookware directly on the surface to prevent damage.
These benchtops are tough and resilient but can still be susceptible to scratches and general wear over time. However, due to their consistent colour and texture throughout, minor damages like scratches or nicks can be easily repaired. You can gently sand the surface, similar to timber, to restore its smooth finish. Specialised abrasives and cleaning pads are available specifically for this purpose.
