Installing floating shelves can be a simple DIY project with just a few tools and materials. Here’s how to do it while ensuring strength and stability.
Measure and Mark: Start by measuring and marking your desired location using a measuring tape, pencil, and level to ensure the markings are straight. Accuracy is key for secure installation and a polished look.
Install Brackets: Secure the brackets by drilling into wall studs. This is crucial for stability, as wall studs provide the necessary support. Use the type 17 hex top screws supplied for this step—each screw can hold approximately 20kg, ensuring your shelves are well-supported. Make sure the brackets are level before fully tightening the screws.
Mount Shelves: Once the brackets are securely in place, slide the shelves onto them. Check that the shelves are level and evenly spaced for a balanced appearance.
Secure the Shelves: Finally, fasten the shelves to the brackets with screws. Ensure the screws are long enough to go through both the shelf and bracket for maximum stability.
By following these steps and securing the screws into wall studs, you’ll have sturdy, reliable floating shelves capable of holding significant weight safely and stylishly.
